March 29th
Calling all Red Sox Fans….
Please join the Friends of the Library of Windham (F.L.O.W.) for a fun filled afternoon of baseball with Jon and Lauren Goode, authors of the book Pitching with the Papelbons, on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Nesmith Library. The event will be held from 1:30- 3:00 p.m.
Pitching with the Papelbons follows young Jonathan, Joshua, and Jeremy Papelbon, three talented pitchers, who learn a great lesson as they embrace success. Jon & Lauren will explain where the idea for their book came from. They will read their book (geared for children ages 2-9) and hold a question and answer time for the children as well as adults. Jon & Lauren will then sell and sign copies of their book. A portion of the proceeds, from the sale of the book, will be going to benefit C2Mission. The C2 Mission benefits children and families affected by Cerebral Palsy and Cystic Fibrosis in the New England area. For more information on the C2 Mission please visit C2mission.org.
After the reading, the children will be able to decorate their own baseball hats as they snack on popcorn out of a popcorn machine…. just like a sunny day at Fenway Park! Jon and Lauren will also be raffling a signed copy of their book.
Pre-registration is required. Please call the library at 432-7154 to reserve your spot. For more information regarding the program, please call Kimber Leuteritz at 893-2526 or visit the F.L.O.W. website at www.flowwindham.org.
