FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY OF WINDHAM IN NEED OF BOOK DONATIONS

The Friends of the Library of Windham (F.L.O.W.) is in need of donations!  We welcome new and gently-used books, books on CD/tape, music CDs, DVD movies, computer software, board games, and puzzles.  Donated items will be available for purchase at our ongoing book sale and during our annual Book Fairs.  Donations can be dropped off at the Nesmith Library during regular business hours.

Unfortunately, we do not sell and cannot accept Reader's Digest condensed books, text books, encyclopedias, magazines, music/audio tapes or VHS tapes.  Many volunteer hours are spent sorting and categorizing the donations. Therefore, we ask that you help us by ensuring that your items are of good quality, complete and saleable.  Since we also do not sell any damaged books, please sort out books that are musty, have broken spines, missing pages or pages that have yellowed with age.  Your help will make the process easier and will also provide the public with great choices at our sales! 

Money raised through these sales directly benefit the Nesmith Library and help fund many programs in our community. We realize that you have several choices of where to recycle your unwanted books.  When you donate these needed items to F.L.O.W. , you can feel good that the money raised will be recycled back into our great community!

The Annual Strawberry Festival Book Fair
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Windham

Our annual Book Fair provides more opportunities to check out the great selection of books and other items. Available for purchase at the Book Fair are a wide variety of gently used to nearly new adult and children books, games, DVDs and software.  Books will be sorted into various categories for easy viewing.  The categories will include Children and Adult Fiction (hardcover and paperback), Non-Fiction, History, Travel, Biographies, Sports and Literature.

Strawberry Festival and Book Fair
Each year in conjunction with our Strawberry Festival held on the first Saturday in June, the Friends hold an annual Book Fair at the Nesmith Library.  The Fair features a great selection of previously enjoyed adult and children fiction and nonfiction books, CD's, DVD's, software, puzzles and games. This is a great time to choose among our wide selection of books for your personal enjoyment, classroom enrichment or to enhance your collections.  With summer just around the corner you can stock up on books for your summer reading! A special Preview Sale is held on Wednesday for Friends of the Library of Windham members and for those who would like to become members. This is an opportunity to get first pick of all the books that will be offered during the Book Fair. Books are priced from only 50 cents to $2.00. Volunteer!
Help sort and organize donated books and materials for our book sales. Sorting can be done anytime that the library is open for business and can be done alone or with a friend.  You can donate an hour a month or an hour a week!  It is a great way to spend time with old friends, meet new people, get some exercise, and help out a good cause! Ongoing
Check out the ongoing book sale near the Circulation Desk in the library. FLOW offers excellent quality and super prices on a wide assortment of books including best selling authors and childrens' books. The selection changes frequently and is re-stocked as items are sold.  This is a great way to find a special book for yourself or even to give as a gift. Watch for special seasonal promotions and events throughout the year!
