FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY OF WINDHAM WINTER BOOK FAIR

Warm up this winter with a new book from the Friends of the Library of Windham's (FLOW) Winter Book Fair. The fifth annual Winter Book Fair will have something for everyone! Come in from the cold and enjoy gently-used adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books, games, CDs, and software with prices starting at 50 cents!

The Winter Preview Sale and Book Fair will take on a new weekday format this January and be held at the Nesmith Library on:

Preview Sale: Wednesday, January 26th 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Book Fair: Thursday, January 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and

Friday, January 28th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

The Preview Sale is for FLOW members, teachers, and senior citizens only; however, non-members may join at the Preview Sale and enjoy the full benefits of membership right away. Memberships secured at the Strawberry Festival and Book Fair in June 2010 and at the Holiday Crafts Sign-Ups in November 2010 are still current . Senior citizens are not only invited to shop on January 26th, but will also enjoy a 25% discount at the Preview Sale.

Bring your own reusable bag to either the Preview Sale or the Book Fair and receive a discount on your purchase.

The temperatures will be dropping and so will the prices as special promotions will occur during the Book Fair days. Come check out the sale as there is nothing like a good book to heat up your imagination. Ongoing:

Check out the ongoing book sale near the Circulation Desk in the library. FLOW offers excellent quality and super prices on a wide assortment of books including best selling authors and childrens' books. The selection changes frequently and is re-stocked as items are sold.  This is a great way to find a special book for yourself or even to give as a gift. Watch for special seasonal promotions and events throughout the year!

Donations are accepted from October 1st through May 1st.  

The Friends of the Library of Windham welcomes your donations of  new and gently used books including books on tape, CDs, DVD's, games, puzzles, and software for its ongoing book sales and annual Book Fairs.  It is thanks to the public's generosity and support that FLOW is able to have successful book sales year after year.  If you have been doing some cleaning and would like to support a good cause, then please consider making a donation.  A book that is “old” to you is a brand new adventure for someone else.

Please note that FLOW cannot accept Reader's Digest condensed books, text books or encyclopedias.  Unfortunately, we also cannot accept magazines, audio tapes and VHS tapes.  Since F.L.O.W. cannot sell any damaged books, please sort out any books that are musty, have broken spines, missing pages or pages that have yellowed with age. 

Your donations can be dropped off at the Nesmith Library during regular business hours. The money FLOW raises through the sale of these donations will benefit the Nesmith Library and help fund the many programs FLOW sponsors each year.  Thank You!

Strawberry Festival Book Fair:

Each year in conjunction with our Strawberry Festival held on the first Saturday in June, F.L.O.W. has its annual Book Fair at the Nesmith Library. We offer a great selection of new and previously enjoyed adult and children fiction and nonfiction books, required High School reading selections, CD's, DVD's, software, puzzles and games. This is a great time to choose among our wide selection of books for your personal enjoyment, your classroom enrichment and to enhance your collections. With summer just around the corner you can stock up on all those books for your summer reading! A special Preview Sale is held the Thursday before the Sale for F.L.O.W. members and for those people who would like to become members. This is an opportunity to get first pick of all the books that will be offered later at our Strawberry Festival Book Fair. Books are priced from only 50 cents to $2.00. Membership levels start at $10.00.

Volunteers:

FLOW is always looking for volunteers to help sort and organize donated books and materials for our sales. Sorting can be done anytime that the library is open for business and can be done alone or with a friend.  You can donate an hour a month or an hour a week!  It is a great way to spend time with old friends, meet new people, get some exercise and help out a good cause!
