Strawberry Festival Preview Sale and Book Fair  

The Preview Sale, for members, teachers and seniors, is Thursday, June 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Nesmith Library. This is an opportunity to get a first look at all the books and items that will be offered at our Strawberry Festival Book Fair. If you are not already a FLOW member, you will be able to join that night. Seniors are also invited to enjoy a 25% discount on all books purchased at the Preview Sale.  

The Book Fair will be held during the Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 5th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Look for a new, easier to navigate display this year that will, weather permitting, include more outdoor tables.

Available for purchase again this year will be a wide variety of gently used to nearly new adult and children books, games, DVDs, and software. Books will be sorted into various categories for easy viewing and include: Children and Adult Fiction (hardcover and paperback), Non-Fiction, History, Travel, Biographies, Sports and Literature.

Finally, in our quest to extend the environmental benefits of the book sales, FLOW. is also encouraging our Book Fair patrons to bring their own reusable bags. All individuals bringing their own bags, will receive a purchase discount.

The Preview Sale and Book Fair both provide excellent opportunities to stock up on summer reading at great prices!  We hope to see you then.

Ongoing:

Check out the ongoing book sale near the Circulation Desk in the library. FLOW offers excellent quality and super prices on a wide assortment of books including best selling authors and childrens' books. The selection changes frequently and is re-stocked as items are sold.  This is a great way to find a special book for yourself or even to give as a gift. Watch for special seasonal promotions and events throughout the year!

Donations are accepted from October 1st through May 1st.  

The Friends of the Library of Windham welcomes your donations of  new and gently used books including books on tape, CDs, DVD's, games, puzzles, and software for its ongoing book sales and annual Book Fairs.  It is thanks to the public's generosity and support that FLOW is able to have successful book sales year after year.  If you have been doing some cleaning and would like to support a good cause, then please consider making a donation.  A book that is “old” to you is a brand new adventure for someone else.

Please note that FLOW cannot accept Reader's Digest condensed books, text books or encyclopedias.  Unfortunately, we also cannot accept magazines, audio tapes and VHS tapes.  Since F.L.O.W. cannot sell any damaged books, please sort out any books that are musty, have broken spines, missing pages or pages that have yellowed with age. 

Your donations can be dropped off at the Nesmith Library during regular business hours. The money FLOW raises through the sale of these donations will benefit the Nesmith Library and help fund the many programs FLOW sponsors each year.  Thank You!

Strawberry Festival Book Fair:

Each year in conjunction with our Strawberry Festival held on the first Saturday in June, F.L.O.W. has its annual Book Fair at the Nesmith Library. We offer a great selection of new and previously enjoyed adult and children fiction and nonfiction books, required High School reading selections, CD's, DVD's, software, puzzles and games. This is a great time to choose among our wide selection of books for your personal enjoyment, your classroom enrichment and to enhance your collections. With summer just around the corner you can stock up on all those books for your summer reading! A special Preview Sale is held the Thursday before the Sale for F.L.O.W. members and for those people who would like to become members. This is an opportunity to get first pick of all the books that will be offered later at our Strawberry Festival Book Fair. Books are priced from only 50 cents to $2.00. Membership levels start at $10.00.

Volunteers:

FLOW is always looking for volunteers to help sort and organize donated books and materials for our sales. Sorting can be done anytime that the library is open for business and can be done alone or with a friend.  You can donate an hour a month or an hour a week!  It is a great way to spend time with old friends, meet new people, get some exercise and help out a good cause!
